Cherie is a freelance botanical artist, specializing in the native and garden plants of western North America. She comes to comes to botanical art with a diverse professional background in architecture, planning, landscape design, and floral design. She holds a B. Architecture from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a M. Art in Urban Planning from UCLA. In 2002-03 she attended the Botanical Art Institute of San Diego, and since participated in workshops offered by a number of botanical artists.
Cherie works in graphite, colored pencil, and watercolor. Her work was displayed in the juried 2008 ASBA/NYHS Annual Botanical Art Exhibition, the 2006 ASBA/ Pacific Science Center Beauty of Botany Juried Exhibition, and the 2006 Theodore Payne Foundation Native to California Exhibition, among others. Cherie maintains her Verdi Design Studio in Saddlebrooke, Arizona, outside Tucson.
